Bin collection day in Queensland

Queensland councils run kerbside collections. The state environment department describes the yellow-lid bin as the household recycling bin and lists the material groups that belong in it. General waste, garden organics and the collection day are on your council’s waste page.

Bin Stickers Australia is an independent sticker supplier. We are not a council or government waste service. Confirm collection days, missed bins and replacement bins on your council's official website.

What the official pages say

The Department of the Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation says the yellow-lid bin takes paper and cardboard, glass bottles and jars, hard plastic containers, and steel and aluminium cans.

The same page says soft plastics, such as bags, cling wrap and chip packets, are not recycled in the yellow-lid bin.

Do not assume a neighbouring council uses the same week or the same garden-organics service. Open the waste page on your own council’s website for the calendar.

Official sources

These pages are the reference for the notes above. Collection day, public-holiday changes and accepted items should be read there, or on your council’s own waste page.

Other states

A sticker does not change the collection week. If you are labelling the bin, see where to put the sticker and how collection days work.
