Bin collection day in the Northern Territory
The Northern Territory does not run one territory-wide bin calendar. The NT Government lists municipal, shire and regional councils and notes that waste management is one of the services they may provide. The collection day is on that council’s website.
Bin Stickers Australia is an independent sticker supplier. We are not a council or government waste service. Confirm collection days, missed bins and replacement bins on your council's official website.
Lid colours we can cite
- Yellow — Recycling in Darwin
- Red — General waste in Darwin
What the official pages say
The NT Government’s council directory is the starting point outside Darwin. It separates municipal and shire councils from regional councils that serve remote communities.
City of Darwin publishes a “My bin day” lookup by suburb, a yellow-lid kerbside recycling bin, and a red general-waste bin. Those colours and that lookup are Darwin’s, not Alice Springs, Katherine or a regional council.
Darwin also asks households to keep plastic bags, food waste and e-waste out of the yellow bin. The council A–Z guide is the list for a particular item.

A sticker does not change the collection week. If you are labelling the bin, see where to put the sticker and how collection days work.
